Week #89 - Chaos and COVID-19 or Christ, Comfort, and Conference

We are about to shopping so I made me a face mask outta Paper towels and rubber bands

Bro, this week was so awesome!!!! We had so much success it's not even funny. People are being humbled left and right and I owe all credits to Heavenly Father. He's the real hero here. This week was full of calling people again and instead of people not responding or being mean, they started to call back or pick up. AND THEY WERE NICE!!!!! Remember how last week I said I could feel a miracle coming right around the corner? WELL IT'S HERE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! We were able to find 4 new people to teach this last week and they were all super solid. They understand that God is trying to tell us something and COVID-19 is what is bringing people closer to Him. Humility is not a bad thing! It is you recognizing just how much you need God! People are slowly recognizing that.

These doods taught us one day. I'm pretty sure one of the sisters said they run a
youtube channel called, "Don't Miss This" But it was a super cool lesson!

We got TWO cars now

One of the things we have been inviting people to do is to watch General Conference. We talked about this in our morning devotional and President Hewlett basically said to tell people, "do you want to feel Chaos and COVID-19? Or do you want Christ, Comfort, and Conference?" BOOM. COPY. PASTE. We texted a message that included that message in it. We got a lot of replies. And what's best is that people were happy that we invited them. Only a couple were negative which is a nice change!

We found a lizard in the church

A room of boxes

He done got hit by a sleeping dart

But, General Conference did NOT disappoint! I loved the focus on the restoration! It helped me build my testimony of the Book of Mormon as well. The prophet and apostles also provided a lot of comfort for us for the coronavirus as well. WE GOT A NEW PROCLAMATION!!!!! Go read it y'all. I'll include it too.

It was interesting to see who got to speak. Also shout out to President Rascon for being called to be a Seventy. He's gonna do great! (He actually taught one of the morning devotionals this week. He's so cool!)

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:

This comes from Moroni 7.

For behold, God hath said a man being aevil cannot do that which is good; for if he boffereth a gift, or cprayeth unto God, except he shall do it with real dintent it profiteth him nothing.
For behold, it is not counted unto him for righteousness.
For behold, if a man being aevil giveth a gift, he doeth it bgrudgingly; wherefore it is counted unto him the same as if he had retained the gift; wherefore he is counted evil before God.
And likewise also is it counted evil unto a man, if he shall pray and not with areal intent of heart; yea, and it profiteth him nothing, for God receiveth none such.
10 Wherefore, a man being evil cannot do that which is good; neither will he give a good gift.
11 For behold, a bitter afountain cannot bring forth good water; neither can a good fountain bring forth bitter water; wherefore, a man being a servant of the devil cannot follow Christ; and if he bfollow Christ he cannot be a cservant of the devil.

I like it because it really helps me understand that I can NOT choose two masters! Follow the one that leads you to do good! That one is Jesus Christ! He has helped through so much and I know He can help y'all as well. I have definitely seen that these last 2 weeks have been a trial to see if I would stay obedient. I chose to stay obedient. I have seen the blessings that come from staying diligent to what I know to be right and true. I've gained a new appreciation for the Atonement of Jesus Christ and how it quite literally carries you through anything if you let it. so LET it.

A cool sign
