Week #88.4 - Corona Days: Corona Games 04-03-2020

(Throw back to the MTC days with Elder Morris and Elder Ure - July 2018)

April 3, 2020

Today. Was. Sweet.

We texted 327 people, inviting them to watch General Conference.
We had 3 sweet lessons.
And found 2 new people to teach!

For our Corona Games score, we got 206 points. But, ended up getting 2nd place cuz the Sulphur sisters went ham today and got 248 points. (kinda salty, but not cuz they are helping children of God too.)

If you think the Lord isn't involved in this work, you're dead wrong . He has made us stronger and more capable to do this work than ever before on our missions.  People are being humbled by the Lord every second and we are there to teach, when they are ready.

We had a sweet lesson at 8:56pm, just 30 minutes ago.  How we got there was we wanted to keep contacting people until 9pm and so I scrolled through our people and found a name.   Looked at the name and it felt right. So, we called her and asked if we could share a 5 minute message. She said yes!  We did and now she wants us to drop off a book of Mormon tomorrow.  It's gonna be sweet!  She really liked what we had to share.  I know the Lord guided us to her. He knew that she would be off of work at nights and that this was the only time we could get a hold of her. The Lord literally is so awesome!  He is in complete control!!!

I finished Ether today. I really like chapter 14. It gives the perspective of life without the companionship of the Holy Ghost or God, in general.  These people are living off of their own strength and can't seem to get a break and are going through trial after trial.  When I told Elder Nash that, he said, "well,  there ain't no rest for the wicked."  It's true though!  Heavenly Father wants to bless us!  But he can't if we aren't following His will 🙁.

24 Nevertheless, Shiz did not cease to pursue Coriantumr; for he had sworn to avenge himself upon Coriantumr of the blood of his brother, who had been slain, and the word of the Lord which came to Ether that Coriantumr should not fall by the sword.

Look at this verse. Think of yourself as Coriantumr and Satan is Shiz. Satan is always trying to get us, but if we are in sin, he will basically try and keep us in sin, no matter what.  He will "not cease to pursue" you and will not give you a break.

So it's better to repent and get the Lord back on your side. There are only blessings!!!!

I hope y'all are watching general Conference tomorrow!!!!  It's going to be so awesome! Bring a question and it will get answered!!!! I can promise you that because it's happened to me 😁.

Its gonna be sweet.

I love y'all! Keep up the positive vibes 😎😎😎

Love,
Elder Furphy
