Week #84 - The Lake of Lake Charles
Query: If you pour water into
water, does the water then become wet?
Hello one and all!
This is yet another great week for Disciples of Christ! Elder Rasmussen and I
have been having a ball together. Lots of good experiences this week
including:
We made a pit stop on our way to Baytown
We got some Bahama Bucks

We went to the darkness of Cameron, LA |
- Going to Baytown for
car inspections (took 6 hours overall! 🙃)
- Biking 40 minutes to
the Lake of Lake Charles
- Having the spirit
whisper in my ear
SO here are the deets.
Our car had to get
inspected this last week by the state. But our car is registered in Harris
County, which is 2 hours away, in Baytown, TX. So, we drove out there which was
fun and we sat in Firestone Auto for like an hour and then, we went by Bishop
Dinsdale's auto shop to say hi real quick, so that was a fun experience. He is so
awesome. Then, we drove the 2 hours back. It was a good time for reflection and
I thought about how I am doing as a missionary and I can't help but feeling I
could be doing so much more. So, I made it a goal to ask Heavenly Father in my
prayers each night what I need to improve so I can become a better missionary.
It's cool to just sit and listen to what the spirit can prompt you to do.
We had a really neat
experience biking this Saturday! Elder Rasmussen and I thought it would be
sweet to do a comp study at the Lake and so we biked the 40 minutes it takes to
get there by bike. By the time we got there, there were a lot of people in the
park by the lake. There were some sweet kites being flown and just a great day
to be out. All of a sudden Elder Rasmussen (who is a motorcycle enthusiast
#Elder Boam pt.2) saw someone sitting on a "Honda CV 650F" and he
turned around to go talk with the man about his bike. We had a sweet talk about
different things on bikes and then we were able to start talking about the restoration.
He seemed really interested and said he would read the Book of Mormon and take
the time to read about it. We were guided to this guy. Why else would we have
waited to go to the lake? All props to our Father in Heaven.

Yo Elder Harward, I found a convertible PT cruiser |
Now for the whispering
of the spirit. SO, Elder Rasmussen and I were in a place called Westlake, LA. We went to visit a lady who has visited with
the missionaries before. It was a great visit and she kept expressing how she
can't find peace. So a thought came to my mind, "does she want a
blessing?" I then had a flashback
to an exchange I had with Elder Nelson, back when I was in Oakhurst. We talked about never passing up promptings
to give blessings. So, I asked her if she would like a blessing and she said
yes. It was a very spiritual experience and she felt so much better after it.
After we left, Elder Rasmussen said that he was thinking of giving her a
blessing too, but that I had beaten him to the punch. So don't dismiss those
promptings y'all. They help people out. It is so neat.
Here's a sweet verse:
24 He doeth not aanything save it be for
the benefit of the world; for he bloveth the world, even that he layeth down his own life that he
may draw call men unto him. Wherefore, he commandeth none that they
shall not partake of his salvation.
This is 2 Nephi 26:24.
I love it cuz it helps me feel the love of my Savior knowing that he will never
leave me out of His infinite Atonement. I hope it helps y'all too.
Alrighty, well please
don't feel shy, please email me (#lonely).
