Week #3.1 - I'm Outta Here!!

My last week at the MTC was a blast. Boring, but still very spiritual. We learned the rest of the lessons in Preach My Gospel and then practiced street approaches. So that was cool. Elder Morris and I taught this Russian guy named Bogdan for our TRC this week and he was way cool to teach. He seemed like he really wanted to learn about this gospel. So our lessons were centered around his needs.

The General Relief Society President came to talk to us so that was pretty cool.

During exercise time, I joined fellow elders in heated games of four square and let me tell you, it gets really intense. I eventually moved on to volleyball, and that was way more fun. We all knew how to have a good time, cuz most of the people playing hardly knew how to play. So we all learned together.

Packing up my stuff was really easy. Turns out both my big bags only weighed about 13 lbs each. So that was a blessing!

Then the biggest most spiritually exhausting Sunday hit. It started off normal, but then when Sacrament came, that's went the tear ducts opened with full force.

So the districts leaving (there were 4 leaving) decided to sing the EFY medley as our departing song. And as I sang it I felt super comforted and calm. And when we sat down, our Branch President, President Redding told us that as we sang he could see angels standing around us and he said that some of those angels were family members. And right when he said that I instantly had the thought of my Grandpa Willman. I never met him, but I sure could feel him comforting me and I now know that he is watching over me. It was really cool and I lost control of my tears and cried like a baby.

After Sacrament, we went to our District Council meetings and Priesthood and had some cool lessons in there.

Then came our district testimony meeting where one person was chosen and everyone else had to tell them what they liked about them. It was really cool and super spiritual. We learned so much together and it was sad to say goodbye to so many great friends.

But besides the spiritual stuff (which was way cool btw) my room at night held uno games. We called it BRUTAL uno. So the person who won 3 games won overall. And the losers had to each drink a cup of orange juice. And so Elder Summerhays won 3 games in a row. Which was LAAAAAME. But good to know the infamous orange juice does not cause bad bowel movements. So yeah, I think the MTC experience was way cool and that I will never forget it. I know that I'm here for a reason and that I am here to forget myself and serve others as best as I can.

Until then, see all y'all next week 😎😎

P.S. So now I am in Texas, and I met our Mission President and stuff, so that was cool! It is humid here, but that's ok! We had to sleep on air mattresses last night cuz we stayed at some of the missionaries apartment. And today I should find out who my trainer is!
