Week #2 - *SNIFF* Smells Like Smoke!

I swear this 2nd week in the MTC went by in a flash. It's hard to believe that I only have 6 days left in the MTC. Time sure goes fast when you're having fun. I know my testimony is growing each day as I learn more and more.

We have this thing called TRC where we teach an investigator. Elder Morris and I taught this guy named Shaun Kim. He is from South Korea and he has been attending BYU for 3 years. He had questions as to who God is and how He plays a role in his life. So we just taught him the first principle from the 1st discussion and then we got him to pray! It was way cool. Then, the next lesson, we taught him the restoration and got him to read the Book of Mormon so that's even better. We then had a great lesson for him but then he just CANCELLED on us! Ah it was muy mal. But hey it's all good.

We got another TRC this week. His name is Bogdan and he is Russian. He is basically the same as Shaun but he isn't flaking out on us. We taught him how to pray and told him how God played a role in his life.

We also got a new PI (Professional Investigator – they get paid to act like investigators) to teach. Her name is Lisa and she was kicked out of her old church cuz she got a tattoo. So she felt that she could never be forgiven or accepted again. We taught her about the atonement and she really like that. We also got her to pray with us and to pray when she got home.

Besides that, the MTC food is starting to get pretty repetitive, but yesterday they gave us chick-fil-a! It was a blessing from heaven. Like WOW.

The Provo temple is really small. Like the Gilbert one is waaaaaaay better. But it's all good, it gives us a place to go on p days.

So apparently there is a fire a ways away from the MTC, but the smoke has gotten to us. The mountains have a haze over them and it smells like I am in the woods. But we will be safe so doooooont worry! I hear the weather back in AZ is niiiiiice. When we wake up here it's like 60 degrees. Super nice. Back home it'd almost be 90 degrees at 7am. So this is a nice change.

So since missionaries are deprived of music, we have been holding acappella sessions in our room at night and we have been singing a LOT of mamma mia. So yeah that's a blast. Elder Crestani has a mutual love for mamma mia and I was super happy when he told me about that. But he has a weird obsession over Lily James l. But we look past that.

Elders Crestani, Summerhays, Brandley, and Kirk are going to Gilbert and I said they should meet my family. But our house in AZ is about 2 miles outside of their mission. So you guys in AZ should find them when they get there next week and tell them you know the Furf.

Idk what else to talk about... We have been learning so much and I am grateful to be here. Laundry is the best time to write these emails, so that's fun, I guess.
