Week #91.3 - Corona Days: 4-in-1

04-23-2020

(Before I begin, as I was soaking my feet in the tub tonight reading a marvelous work and a wonder by Legrand Richards, I couldn't help but realize that this church is SO STRUCTURED. Why wouldn't it be? It is God's Church after all! He is a God of order! That's what I got)

(Old Picture from last week)

Wowee! Today was pretty darn cool.

We started with a sweet devotional featuring our beloved President Ross of the Texas Houston East Mission Presidency. He's so cool. He's a great example to me of what a Christlike individual is like. He just GETS it.

After, we went and finished shutting down the other Elders apartment, I did some My Plan. We are now covering all of Lake Charles permanently cuz our mission is actually acquiring a new stake next transfer, which covers the Spring, TX area, and we will be opening 9 new proselyting areas there which is super sweet and the mission needs missionaries to serve there. Ya know me, I’m getting ready to hop on a plane ✈️😭😉😬

We planned for next week and went for a walk to our friends the turtles 🐢🐢🐢, they're so darn cute.

Our District Leaders swung by to have us sign some welcome cards for the new mission president coming in July. So that's cool! I also got a surprise call from Elder Boam too!  He thinks he's gonna serve in the new Spring Zone 😉. I wouldn't doubt it, he's a great missionary for the job 😏👍.

So for the 4-in-1, we got 4 Book of Mormon Referrals today! How cool is that??? The Lord is just SHOWERING blessings on us right now. It's so cool. He's so great. We were able to drop one of those off today.

We were fasting for Elder Chappell today cuz he has to get surgery for his lungs. Keep him in your prayer y'all!

We had a neat lesson with Betty today. She was telling us how she felt like she had no direction in life right now. And so we explained that God has a direction for her always. He has even provided us a with a path. A covenant path! And the first step on that path is baptism and we put her on date for baptism on May 23rd!!!  Super cool. We promised her that she will feel the guidance of the spirit help her in her life as she works towards baptism. I'm so excited for her.

We ended our night by reading Revelation 4 and 5 with Joe. It was super neat.

Spiritual thought!

Alma 2:29-31

29 And it came to pass that Alma fought with Amlici with the sword, face to face; and they did contend mightily, one with another.
30 And it came to pass that Alma, being a man of God, being exercised with much faith, cried, saying: O Lord, have mercy and spare my life, that I may be an instrument in thy hands to save and preserve this people.
31 Now when Alma had said these words he contended again with Amlici; and he was strengthened, insomuch that he slew Amlici with the sword.

After you read this, think about what the Amlici of your life is. Don't you think you should ask God to help you with it? Alma did and he acted on his answer. His answer was added strength. God expects us to act when we get an answer to prayers. Just like Alma did. You will find miracles waiting for you!!!

I love you all so much,

Elder Furphy 🐢🐢🐢
