Week #78 - Broadway is cool my dudes
Hey y'all!
So this week was super cool! Here's some highlights:
1. I went on 2 exchanges. One in Baytown and one in Broadway. Each of them, we found some cool success. (more on that later)
2. I got kicked out of an H.E.B. and Walmart for passing out flyers. Totally worth it because it was flyers for an open house, at the church, on the 25th. We talked to a lot of people before we got kicked out. We did it with the YSA (Young Single Adult) and that was a blast.
3. I went on an exchange with Elder Ewell and he is super sweet! I learned a lot from him and we had a blast going around visiting people and less actives. We were able to get in with 2 less active members who probably would not have let us in, but the bishop asked us to go and we did. We got in with both people and were able to share great messages with them. It was super inspired and built my testimony that the Lord really does give revelation to people.
So in Broadway, I was with Elder Morgan and we had a SWEET pass off lesson with a guy named Omar. He is 21. Which means he is a YSA. BUT, he also wants to be baptized because of how good he felt when he read the Book of Mormon. What are the odds that when we went on exchanges we would have a lesson with this dude who was found by some Spanish Elders, and had a lesson that day to pass him off to English, and I was there to meet him. God definitely has a hand in this work and I am gonna keep giving him all the glory my Doods. I love this work and all I get to help out with. I might only have a handful and a little bit of months left, but they're gonna be SWEET!
I read about the tree of life this week and it was way cool! There are 4 groups of people in this story:
1. The people who go straight to the great and spacious building and laugh at people who are trying to get to the tree of life.
2. People who walk on the path and get lost along the way.
3. People who casually make it to the tree, eat the fruit, see the people in the building, are ashamed of the fruit, and go join the people.
4. The people who do everything in their power to get the tree and eat the fruit, are happy and don't let the scorn of the people affect them.
I can promise as we try to be those in the 4th group, and endure to the end, we can experience a long lasting sense of peace and joy. Don't give in to temptation. If you do, don't worry. Repent and try better 😉.
I love y'all and have a great week,
