Week #70 - Crunch Time
What's good my dudes? Sorry about
last week, I was SUUUUUUPER busy with Transfers and all. So here's a quick
update of 2 weeks ago...

to Port Arthur, LA.

It's called crunch time cuz we have
5 weeks to reach our goal of 100 baptisms, in the mission, in 100 days. So, we're
going ham (which means working hard) with missionary work 😜.
BUT,
now for this week.
We had quite the busy week laid out
for us. We had sweet lessons with each of our progressing people and they are
all on track for their baptismal dates! So first off, Matthew is literally my
favorite man in the world! He has quit smoking, Tea and Coffee so that he can
live the word of wisdom. He knows it's what he needs to do and is feeling good
about his decision to be baptized. He has been off of it all for over a week
now and is on track for December 7th, for his baptism.
We got a hold of some people who
teach a 15 step program to stop smoking and had them come to a lesson with
Mark. They asked Mark why he wants to stop smoking. He said because of
health reasons. The program people said if that was his reason, then he would
NEVER quit. And so they explained that he needs a better reason for his
quitting. If his reason was for health, he would've quit a long time ago. But, they shared their story for how they quit and it was by following the 15 step
program. It was a great experience and Mark wants to quit so bad! He can do it!
Keep him in your prayers 🙏
😇. His date for baptism is on the
14th of December.
We had a Lesson with Sarah and
Monique as well and they are progressing really well and their father is
getting better at living the word of wisdom so he can baptize his daughters by
the 14th. It will be an amazing experience!
I am having a great time in the
Porter area, of Texas, and the people here are so nice! (99% of the time)

We have been going around showing
people the Christ Child video and I just love it! It goes over the Nativity and
it isn't in English at all! It makes you have to think about it more and what
I've been thinking about while I watched it is just how hard that journey must
have been, but also the dedication both Mary and Joseph had to go through with
it all. They knew how important this child would be. I also like how literally
anyone that had read the scriptures were able to understand the signs of His
birth and did everything they could to go see their Savior! So, go watch the
video https://www.comeuntochrist.org/light-the-world/the-christ-child ! You should be able to find it in churchofjesuschrist.org and
it'll be sweet. Also go to lighttheworld.org and
sign up for daily reminders of service! Make this Christmas season COUNT! It
will only bless you 😉.
I love y'all and I hope you have a
fun time this Thanksgiving!!!! I challenge y'all to make a gratitude journal.
It will make you more grateful ☺.
Stay cool and go to the pool,
ELDER FURPHY 🏊
