Week #64 - One, Two, and Three Baybeeeeeeeee (and Woodville bb)

Hello,hello, hello!!!!!!!! Y'all are pretty cool 😏

So this week was pretty sweet. We had some key lessons with the people we are teaching. So, here's what went down...

1) We had a great visit with Ellen. We stopped by her house, just to see how she was doing, because she has been feeling really sick lately. Well, she was home and she let us in! We talked about the Book of Mormon and watched a Book of Mormon video and afterwards she brought up her baptismal date. We asked her if she wanted to set a new date for baptism and she said yes!!! She is planning on getting baptized on the 9th of November. It's gonna be so sweet! Ellen is literally so cool.

2) We had a sweet lesson with Mark. We talked about General Conference and how he liked it.  He said he wished that he could watch it every week. Nice Mark. We then talked about Elder Uchtdorf's talk and how he can get on the covenant path. We asked Mark if he would like to set a goal to be baptized. He, at first, said no. We asked why and he said he wasn't ready cuz he didn't know everything yet. We then likened his own learning of the gospel to a piano recital. When he practices the piano, he prepares for the day of his recital. Just like how we teach him so he can be ready for his baptism. He liked that a lot and accepted the date of December 7th. Mark is so cool.

3) We got a referral, from a missionary, for a couple who wants to get married by our Bishop. So we got in contact with them and got a lesson set up for 5pm, on Sunday. Bishop Kunz came and sat in with us. The woman is a member and the man is not. They want to get married so they can be sealed in the temple, in a year. The soon to be husband took the first lesson with us, while bishop was figuring out what it took to marry them. (Bishop has never performed a marriage ceremony before, so there's a first time for everything!) We asked him what his background was and he said he believed in God, but was open to learn about us. We taught him about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and he said it all made sense. We then invited him to be baptized and he accepted! His name is Matthew, by the way. Bishop came back with info at the end and said the earliest they could get married is this Thursday, so it'll be exciting!!! I can't wait to see how awesome Matthew will progress!

4) We had a lesson with a part-member family and we watched the Book of Mormon video about the tree of life and asked the kids what each thing represented. We talked about how we can make it to the tree of life now. They gave answers like, prayer, read your scriptures, and going to church, which were all great! We eventually got on the subject of baptism and how that is the first step on the straight and narrow path to the tree of life. We told them that we would be setting a date, next lesson.

5) We got to go to Woodville for a kid I was teaching named Tayfe (I probably butchered the spelling) and it was so spiritual! His dad baptized him and it was just a wonderful experience. It was good to see all my friends again and it was a warm welcome back, despite the cold weather we had this weekend 😅.

Enos is super cool because he just truly wants to change and prays all day to receive a forgiveness of his sins. He eventually does. I can promise y'all that if you truly want to change, God will help you.
