Week #53 - "No hablo inglés"
What a week my dudes. We are having so much fun out here, Elder Peterson and I. A lot has happened, but has gone by so fast. SO here we go!
We had a meeting, on Tuesday, called MLC. We were able to council about how we can better follow up, as missionaries, with the people we are teaching. We had a great discussion and we role-played situations where we followed up with people's praying, Book of Mormon reading, and with Sacrament attendance. I was able to understand better how important "the commitments" and "follow ups" we have with people. If we don't follow up, they don't think we care. So we are gonna start cracking down on that. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be super sweet.
So after that we had to start preparing for Friday's District Training. We go to the districts, in our zone, and teach them what we had talked about in MLC. It took like 7 hours to hop around everywhere, but, it was worth it. President Hewlett and Sister Hewlett showed up to our Cleveland District training and it went super well.
I went on exchanges with Elder Rohrbacher this week! He is a new missionary in T.H.E. Mission and is super sweet! He is a cool kid. We tracted a bunch, in the Oakhurst area. We were able to find a couple people to teach, so it was totally awesome.
Oh, so Elder Peterson and I have been tracting in a bunch of the Hispanic community neighborhoods. Everyone just waves us away saying they can't speak English which is kinda annoying but funny at the same time. BUT! everytime we were about ready to leave the area, we would feel inspired to knock on one more door, and EVERY TIME the person spoke perfect English and they were INTERESTED!!!! So I call THAT a miracle.
Oh, and on Thursday, I hit my year-mark!!! It's super wack to think that I've been out here, in Texas, for a whole 12 months now. (BIG shout-out to the bois, Elders Ewell, Morris, and Ure) I have grown so much over the last year and have a greater understanding of my calling as a missionary for the Lord. I have found a true love for the work. I am excited, every day, to go share my testimonies with those who need to hear it. Even though I've missed out on a lot of stuff back home, I find so much joy in this work that it really doesn't even matter to me anymore. It's cool to see this kind of change.
Anywho, I love y'all and I thank you for the support!!!
