Week #52 - It's do or die bb [insert massive dab emoji]
I've got to say, this has been the longest week of my life. I knew coming into this that a Zone Leader had some extra work to do, but boi, this be a lot of work man. It's all good though, in the end, I'm still super happy to be doing this work and helping out the zone.
So Elder Peterson and I made the zone vision this week, but that took a lot of brain power and straight revelation. So I was pretty wiped out every night this week. I have never slept better in my entire life. Our zone vision focused a lot on Elder Uchtdorf's talk, from this last conference. We shared how we, as a zone, need to first come closer to Christ and then we will be more confident, in the day, as we go about sharing our testimonies with people, about the gospel.
We were able to find 4 new people to teach this week too. One of them, Lionel, is super cool. We walked up to his door, he answered, we told him we were sharing a message about eternal families and asked if he would listen to our message, he then said he was busy and started to shut the door, BUT, then the spirit was like, "hey, you should listen to their message". He opened the door back up and said, "you know what? Share it right now." We had a super sweet doorstep lesson with him where we talked about eternal families and exaltation. He SUPER liked it. He was engaged the entire lesson and kept on asking super sweet question that we had answers to, so it was a huge win. He wants us to come back. We will gladly oblige to his request.
We are also teaching this sweet man named Mark. We also just put this man on date for baptism, on August 17th! So please keep him in your prayers! He really liked the Plan of Salvation and said it made a lot of sense. The spirit was there and it was just a really good time.
The Oakhurst Ward is super sweet and there's a lot more people in this town than in Woodville. So it took me a couple of days to adjust, but now I am starting to get a hang of things. Our bishop in the ward is 29 years old which is kinda cool bb. I am super excited to be serving here. It's gonna be a sweet ride here.
Oh, so Elder Peterson and I thought it would be fun to get some Carolina Reaper slushies, from Sonic this week, and that drink is of the devil. Not because it's super spicy, but rather, it is cold, then it doesn't even taste super good, and then it gets spicy in your mouth. THE COLD DECEIVES YOU. Don't trust the reaper slushies. They just backstab you in the end. No bueno.
Other than that, I've been reading a lot in Preach My Gospel and learning about how the Holy Ghost is truly the teacher. We need to read the scriptures and do all we can so that we can have the Holy Ghost with us, and then go share our testimonies with people. It's super cool to feel the Spirit as I testify of the Book of Mormon and the Gospel. It really tells me that I really am part of Jesus Christ's true church and that I am doing the right thing.
FINAL TID-BIT:
Faith is to hope for things which are not seen, but which are true (Heb. 11:1; Alma 32:21), and must be centered in Jesus Christ, in order to produce salvation. To have faith is to have confidence in something or someone. The Lord has revealed Himself and His perfect character, possessing in their fullness all the attributes of love, knowledge, justice, mercy, unchangeableness, power, and every other needful thing, so as to enable the mind of man to place confidence in Him without reservation. Faith is kindled by hearing the testimony of those who have faith (Rom. 10:14–17). Miracles do not produce faith, but strong faith is developed by obedience to the gospel of Jesus Christ; in other words, faith comes by righteousness, although miracles often confirm one’s faith.
I love this paragraph in the Bible Dictionary. It really helps me understand faith and how I can increase it. Just thought I'd share it.
