Week #50 - Freedom Week bb
ALLLLLLLLLRIGHTAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!! Who's reaaady????
This week was eventful, but, not our most productive week. We had a lot of trips, to Houston and Kingwood, this week so that was a big ol' BUMMER!
SO, Elder Boam had to go to the doctor, on TUESDAY, cuz his knee was giving him some issues. So, basically the doctor told him to - not be stupid and wreck his knee even more than he had. That basically secured him with a car area, in his mission, until January of 2020. nice. But, we obviously couldn't have driven to Houston by ourselves, so we had the wonderful opportunity of driving with T.H.E. Mission nurse, Sister Melzer. She's super cool. Especially cuz she took us to Canes after the appointment. What a hero to mankind.
Then, on WEDNESDAY, we drove with Elder McBride and Elder Bell to Kingwood to get Elder Boam and all the other new missionaries certified. It was sweet cuz my boy is now an official missionary (even though he totally was before). Elder Boam is super sweet and I can't wait to see what he will do on his mission. After that we totally hit up Buc-ee's on our way home. I got me some super sweet shorts. I don't think I have a pic. Sorry bb.
THURSDAY was America day dood. Which makes it sweet to begin with. Our branch had a sweet pancake breakfast, in which I indulged myself. Maybe too much. It's all good tho. I got to talk with my family and then we went out to do some work. We had a sweet dinner set up with an investigator, that is super solid, but, he didn't end up showing up because he got lost. But, he kept saying he was coming so that was a bummer cuz the branch members had some sweet fireworks that they lit off. Too bad I could only sit from a distance and watch it all go down. (Elder Boam and I had some sweet poses though.)
FRIDAY was super spiritual because we got to go to the temple with Lil' Sean!!!! He is so great and is always excited to go to the house of the Lord to do work for the dead. He is honestly an inspiration to me because I can see how the Holy Ghost has blessed his life and how it has helped him understand the gospel more easily.
SATURDAY, we found 3 people to teach, in Ivanhoe! AND THEY ARE ALL YOUNGER PEOPLE!!!!! AND THEY WANT US TO ACTUALLY COME BACK BECAUSE THEY FELT THE SPIRIT. I was muy excited to teach them.
But yeah, I really liked this week in the long-run.
I have been studying about faith this week and let me say, Preach My Gospel has been my buddy. It directed me to the Bible Dictionary and it had some sweet insights to faith.
One of the things that I really liked is that we can only work miracles through God's power and authority, but we still need to have faith to do the miracles. It was interesting and I am going to continue studying faith and talk more about it next week.
This gospel is wicked awesome guys and I can't wait to share it with the next person I meet. They don't know what kind of spiritual enlightenment is coming bb.
Love y'all,
Elder Furphy
P.S. Elder Boam and I are 'boutta go eat some Habanero peppers 😅😅😅
