Week #40 - It's rainin' men, HALLELUJAH

WAZAAAAA?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Man, oh man, what a week this has been. We have found quite the amount of work to do out here, in good ol' Woodville. Elder Boam is a stud and we are gettin' SHTUFF DONE.

Where to begin??? SO, I was able to see Elder Wood and Elder Osborne and the whole cheesecake crew, last Tuesday, which was completely awesome and very refreshing! I picked up Elder Boam and we went on our way, to Woodville.

So, Day 1 - we find 5 new people to teach! It was sweet! I am so excited to see where this goes and I know that this will be sweet :) Elder Boam is basically a trained missionary and alls I have to do is guide him on his path up. So, it's super sweet. We are preparing for his certification in May and it's gonna be AWESOME. He has a very great gift for memorizing stuff, so he's gonna be great!

We went to support Sean, at mutual, and we ended up playing "Truth or Dare" with the youth.  Elder Boam and I stuck to strictly truths and we then realized that it was a church function and that we could probably pick a dare.  So, the first dare I get is, Sing a song to the 7th contact in your phone and wouldn't you know it, Elder Braden Ure is my 7th contact. So I called him and sang a song to him. It was a fun old time.

We had a baptism for lil' Sean, on Saturday! It was so great and it went very smoothly. I got to see Elder King and Elder Dowdle. Those two are studs. This guy named Brock showed up, who is a very cool dood too. He sure brought the spirit. That same day, we met the single most prepared guy, while biking around. His name is Cameron and we biked up to him and offered to help him mow his lawn.  He was hesitant, but he said he had it covered, but appreciated the offer. But, then he started to ask us about why we were out and what we do as missionaries. We told him about what we do and the message we share. It was sweet. He told us that when he spake with us that he felt super happy and that he wanted to meet with us more. So, I call that a big win. We then had game night, that night, and had some sweet Chinese food and played some INTENSE volleyball.

On Sunday, lil' Sean received the Gift of the Holy Ghost and that was so cool. He has a new light in his eyes now. I can't wait to see what he does. I was also privileged to ordain him to the office of a Deacon and confer upon him the Aaronic Priesthood. It was a very neat experience.

Sean fell asleep in the fireside

But yes! I am SUPER enjoying life as a missionary and I wouldn't trade it for anything, in the whole WORLD.

I was reading in Alma 58 and something stuck out to me. Just 2 verses:

20 And it came to pass that when the Lamanites had passed by, or when the army had passed by, Gid and Teomner did rise up from their secret places, and did cut off the spies of the Lamanites that they should not return to the city.

21 And it came to pass that when they had cut them off, they ran to the city and fell upon the guards who were left to guard the city, insomuch that they did destroy them and did take possession of the city.

Now, when I first read that, I was like, man they took back the city. BUT, then I looked at it in a different perspective. So in the story, the city of Manti is totally taken over by Lamanites and Helaman and his army are trying to take it back. So Heleman and his army approach the city and he has Gid and Teomner hide in the wilderness and Helaman coaxes the WHOLE Lamanite army out and then Gid and Teomner take the whole city. Then, Helaman and his army evade the Lamanites, swing back and join Gid and Teomner and take the city.

I related the city of Manti to ourselves and the Lamanites to Sin and Temptation. I also related Heleman and his army to Jesus Christ's Atonement, and how sometimes we are filled with sin and that we need the atonement to "flush" the sins outta us and then have Jesus help us take control of our bodies again. We need to be willing to change though.

Anywho... I love y'all and I hope you guys have a fantastical week!
