Week #27 - "Yeah, It's Not That Spicy"
Hello you wonderful children of God! I sure hope all is well and that you haven't missed me too much lol.
6 months gone by bb and 18 to go. Whoop de doo! Lol, nah I'm having a blast. 18 months to do God's work YEET.
BUT, the last week of the transfer has been super cool. Some blood loss, some fire lessons, and some robbery.
First of all, transfers are here and neither Elder Hazelton or I are leaving. I'm about to be in Buna 4 1/2 months. But what's more is I'm gonna be District Leader, so that cool. Now, I have the opportunity to call my district every night and talk with the Zone Leaders, every night. It's gonna be a blast.
Anywho, this last week was cool. We had a super fire lesson with a family we are teaching and we had a member go with us and that made it even better. We brought a white board and I drew out the Plan of Salvation and they really seemed to like it! We also had a restoration lesson with them and I got a little bold and challenged them to be baptized. They said they would pray about it. So there's room for progression! They have been reading the Book of Mormon and have been praying about it. Brother Clark was the member that went with us and he had some super awesome insights during the lesson. It went really well.
So for the blood loss. Elder Hazelton and I were walking through good ol' Cougar Country and we came to a house that had barbed wire just laying on the ground. I thought nothing of it and walked over it. Then my foot got caught on something but came unsnagged and I kept walking. Then Elder Hazelton was like, "Ow! Elder Furphy you gotta go get the car. I just stepped on a nail". So, I guess my foot got snagged on a nail but I didn't step on it. So we had to take an emergency trip to Vidor and go get a tetanus shot. That was fun... Not really. But hey, ya live and ya learn. His foot is doing a lot better now.
And so with robbery, we are helping one of the people we are teaching quit drugs, so whenever we see him we ask for a pack of cigarettes or a can of snuff. So, I got a can of snuff last night and I also threw out a can of snuff last night. But, yeah we take at least one of his drug stuff whenever we see him. We actually have a lesson planned for tonight. So yeah buddy.
So there is a Hispanic lady in our ward, Sister Haynes, and she made this habenero hot sauce and it was SO GOOD. So, I of course talked about how good it was and then Sister Haynes - she would make me a fresh jar of the sauce and I picked it up Sunday and I ate a lot of it and she must have put more peppers in it cuz it was a little more spicy... 🔥🔥🔥🔥😭
BUT yeah this week was awesome and I can't wait to see what will happen!
Y'all stay legit!!!!
Love,
Elder Furphy 🤣🤣🤣
