Week #19 - Me Oh My, Some Shtuff Happened (kinda)

Oh boy, oh boy, how has y'all's week been? Christmas time is upon us and it is GLORIOUS.

So let's get to it...

We went by some less actives and they talked to us for a while. I got learning that they love having the missionaries over and also found out that they like cooking. I asked if they would teach me their ways and they said they would. So, I got a cooking lesson tomorrow. 🍳👌👌👌👌👌😏.

Elder Furphy and Santa!

This week has been super cool. So one of the cool part was ZONE CONFERENCE. It was a great reminder that we should always brush up on the basics of the gospel and really polish our testimonies. We should also be super excited about the Book of Mormon, when we share it with others, cuz ya know, IT'S A SUPER COOL BOOK. But yeah, we had a pretty good lunch and I got to see my bois Elder Ure and Elder Morris. Oh and Elder King was there too. He's a real cool greenie. Mad props to him. He's almost at legit as Elder Ure, Morris, Ewell and I. Almost. 😂 After ZC, we went to Buc-ee's which is like a HUGE gas station with like 100 pumps. It's a cool place.

Buc-ee's

Let's seeee, we also were able to do some service for a disabled guy. We dug a trench for him and put pipes in it so water would drain out of his yard. That is actually some of the service we did on December 1st, the worldwide day of service. It took all afternoon haha. It was a good time though, cuz we got to help someone out and brighten their day 😊.

Big Santa is back bb

We got in contact with someone we knocked into a couple weeks ago and he seemed happy to see us. We talked about how the Book of Mormon can really help you in all your trials and he took one and said he'd read it. Later, that day, I said he should read the story of Alma the Younger and he said he was grateful to have people who really cared about his needs. So yeah, he's a solid guy who wants to be part of the church 👌. It's a good deal.

We be biking boiii👌👌👌😜

Heyyyy, who watched that Christmas Devotional???? It was super good. It's always good to hear from our prophet. I loved the music and all. But the best part was that our mission president said we couldn't watch it unless it was with a less active, recent convert, or an investigator. So, we tried and tried to ask if people wanted to watch it and everyone we asked were busy. So we went to the Baptist Church for some revelation and at the end of service, we thought to drop by the less actives we met earlier that week. They let us in and said they would love to watch it with us. So that's a BIG win. They really liked it and they also gave us some homemade peanut brittle. That was super good. After that we cruised to the Church cuz we knew that people were eating cookies there.  We got there in the nick of time and got some hot Cocoa, cookies and brownies. What a great night.

Christmas Devotional

We may or may not have gone to the Pentacostal Church again, but this time we got a pic with the pastor and he said, "Wow, put the non Mormon in the middle!" Haha that was super funny.

Us with the Pastor

Oh, we were walking down a road and a guy came straight up to us and said he really wanted to meet with us and we set up an appointment for next week He said he had met with missionaries before and really wanted to meet with us. So that was cool.

Elder Furphy and Elder Loynd

On that same road, there was a kid riding his bike and taunting us, so I did as one does and yelled, "You wanna learn about JESUS???" and he skidded to a stop and said "sure" and so we got to share the plan of salvation with him and he liked it. We gave him a Book of Mormon to read and he went on his way. But the cool part is, whenever he rode by he now waved and was smiling at us. So gg.

This dog is passed ooooooout!

BUT yeah, that was a pretty cool week. I know it is kinda all over the place but hey, it's all good lol.

I've been reading Preach My Gospel every day.  I have learned a ton in the Christlike attributes section. It's definitetly impacting me to be better. Y'all should read it too. It's super cool.

Yep that's about it. I love y'all! Remember what Christmas is really about! Go light the world!!!!

Until next time,

Elder Furphy

P. S. Transfers are on December 18th.
