Week #16 - Boonies Boonies Boonies Yee Haw Cowboy🤠👢👢👢
Ooooooooh man.
So, Buna is very pretty and the people are nice. My mother tells me that there are about 2,200 people that live here, so it's super fun. I am still trying to get used to missionary work in the country and am having hard times here and there.
BUT! This last week sure was interesting. It started with us trying to figure out what to do because I have No clue what is going on here, in Buna. So we mainly just visited some members and some of the people we are teaching. That was cool. My good friend Grant Milner (Elder Milner) said that the really only effective way to do missionary work in the country is through the ward. So that is what I will try to do!
My companion's name is Elder Loynd and he is a fun guy. He will have been here, in Buna, for about 6 months after this transfer, so let's make it 7 1/2 LOL. He is a great guy to talk to. It took a while to get him to talk to me, but now we are good.
Oh! I also got wrecked with a fever this week. Got all the way up to 101.4 degrees, so that was fun. It has gotten pretty cold here and it is in the 40s most of the time, so that didn't really help my fever much. But I got over it eventually.
There was one night where we came in and I wasn't feeling happy, at all. I felt like I was completely lost and WAY out of my comfort zone. I honestly have been struggling getting used to the area. I felt like I couldn't breathe and I was getting really anxious. But I got a random thought about one of the missionary guide books and it said to talk with your companion about it. I was like, "naw, I don't wanna do that" buuuut it kept pushing in me and I eventually went out and said " I am not OK" and then I just said how I was feeling. We told our DL, Elder Moat, that I would like a blessing and the next day, they came by our apartment and gave me a blessing. It helped me feel a little better. I am still anxious about this new area and still trying to get a hold of how things work out here and I know I will be supported by the Lord in all my efforts. Please send your prayers my way! It will be appreciated.
I recently finished Saints and that book is super cool because it just shows how the church began and that there were some problems in the church, but that they worked those problems out eventually. It was a good read. I am now reading A Marvelous Work and a Wonder and it is super cool and gives great insights to the gospel.
But yeah that was our week basically. It has been hard, but I know it will get better if I keep an upbeat attitude cuz having a bad attitude is for losers and no Furphy is a loser. 😎👌👌
Y'all keep on staying beautiful and keep on choosing the right!

P. S. Elder Ure you are super cool for giving us a ride to the temple. 😍
