Week #14 - Pumpkin Carving bebe 🎃👌🎃 Oh and Certification!!

Well, well, well. This was a week indeed.

So we started it by cleaning the literal crap out of our apartment cuz inspections were that day. But the highlight of that day was when Elder Ure and Olsen came to spend the night for missionary certification. It was good to see my buddy again 😊. It was good to catch up.

Then we had certification baby! So we went and President Hewlett explained what we were doing and basically, we had to pass off the first 3 lessons (memorized) and the Law of Chastity/Words of Wisdom (memorized). We also had to have 16 Bible references to use in a bashing situation, so that was cool. Let me just say that I passed with flying colors. Also, the MTC gang was back together! So Elders Ure, Ewell, Morris, and I got to reunite and catch up. Elder Morris is a super cool dude, by the way.

Elder Wood called me and told me Happy Birthday and that was super nice to hear. It's always good to hear from my Father haha 😂😂. But yeah, now I am a certified missionary and am ready to roll!

The next day, we had a pretty lit 🔥🔥🔥 study, at President Rascon's house. We studied from the Old Testament and focused on the the prophet Joshua. He's a pretty cool dude. Later in the day, we went by a referral and she said we couldn't have arrived at a better time. She wanted a blessing and we gave her one. She felt the Spirit and said we could come back to visit and share our message again. So, that was really cool!

The next day was exchanges. I got to spend the day with Elder Setoki. He's a really cool District Leader. Even though we spent 2 hours, at Firestone, getting our oil changed, it was still a good day. We eventually went to Culver's for dinner and the other Elders in the District "happened" to be there haha😂😂😂. That was great.

Saturday was a whirlwind. So Kim made it seem like she was dropping us, so I was like "oh no you don't" and we went by her house and she was doing fine. She said she was just cleaning and couldn't meet. So we read some of the Book of Mormon and she loved it. She said she doesn't want to go to her church anymore and want to go to ours cuz she loves the happiness she feels when she is around members, so that's a big win. We invited her to the Trunk or Treat, which was later in the day and she said she would be there. And so the Trunk or Treat came and she showed up! She loved it and made some friends! It was a very cool experience 😁😁😁😁😁😁.  We met up with the Spanish Elders and Hermanas too at their Trunk or Treat and snagged some nachos 👌👌👌.

Then yesterday at church, we had a good time with the Primary Program. Lots of kids! Then, after church, we went to a member's house to carve pumpkins. It was a very fun time. We made a spoooooky pumpkin haha 😱😱😂😂.

I have been reading Saints a BUNCH and the history of the church is WILD. But a cool scripture from Psalm 23:

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

This is just a great comfort for me being on a mission and I know that God will be with us through everything 😊.

P.S. Next week is Transfers, so pday is on Tuesday. Don't mail anything to the apartment cuz I'm pretty sure I'm outta here. But who knows, LOL.

Y'all stay great and appreciate the small things in life!!!!!
